News from 9/18/06 Welcome
Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Readers!!!
We're proud to announce that the
1982-1993 Mustang GT Registry is currently the featured website in the November
2006 issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords "Cyber Stallions"
column!!!! Many thanks to Jeff Bauer for the nice article!!! (Click

News from 8/29/06 Here's the latest update on the status of
our recent unexpected server move... the message
board and reference
gallery are now back up and running! The GT
registration forms are also currently down and will be for an unknown period
of time. Since we have moved to a server with a different operating platform
(i.e. non-Windows), the .asp registration forms will need to be reprogrammed in
.php before they will work again. Please keep checking back!!
News from 8/17/06 Here
is the current status is of everything from the web site move to our new VPS
account...
(1) Message board appears to be working
normally
(2) Reference Gallery is still down. It was not working right yesterday
and last night we discovered that not all the files got transferred over to
the new server. We're in the process of downloading the files from the
old server and will upload them to the new server ASAP. This is BIG job as
this includes all of the image files from the reference gallery.
(3) GT registration forms are also down currently and will be for awhile.
Since we have moved to a server with a different operating platform (i.e.
non-Windows), the .asp registration forms will need to be reprogrammed in .php
before they will work again. Hopefully it will not take too long to get this
done, but we have no idea how long it will take (as we've got to get the
reference gallery up and running again first).
Thanks everybody for your patience!!!
News from 8/4/06 We are experiencing some MAJOR growing pains right now due to our web site overloading the
shared web server we're currently on. Because of the excessive server
resources our message board and reference gallery were using last Tuesday
morning (8/1/06), our web host took our entire web site down without
warning. This left us unable to access any files on the web site and
unable to send or receive any emails for an entire day. We were able to
get the web site restored on Wednesday afternoon (8/2/06) only by agreeing to
turn off our message board and reference gallery temporarily while we're still
on the shared server.
We have been working very hard behind the scenes to remedy this situation.
The handwriting has been on the wall for awhile that we were beginning to
outgrow our shared server environment and were going to need to move to a more
expensive "dedicated" web hosting environment at some point in the
future to be able to continue growing and improving our web site. Our
current situation has made it obvious to us that this changeover must happen
NOW.
We are planning to get the web site switched over to a different web server
(a VPS or "virtual private server") ASAP which should give us enough
horsepower and resources to run our message board and reference gallery without
the slowness and problems we've been experiencing over the past few months (due
to being on the shared server). While this is a very exciting time for us
(we're definitely growing and improving - which was one of our main goals for
this year), this is also a very challenging situation for us.
There is one BIG PROBLEM with this situation right
now - the move to a virtual private server will cost SIGNIFICANTLY more money
than what our current web hosting costs (in fact, FIVE times more).
Because this happened so suddenly, we have been left scrambling trying to figure
out how we are going to pay for this. Needless to say, we are in need of
your support right now - if you have been considering making
a donation, buying GT
Registry merchandise from us or buying something through our "affiliate
vendors" (CarFax, Amazon, TireRack, eBay, Eastwood, Northern Tools
& Equipment, Cars.com, Motorbooks, JC Whitney, Parts America, etc.) but
haven't done so yet NOW is the time to do it.
Once we get situated on our new server, we will obviously need to be looking
for more vendors/sponsors to pay for our more expensive on-going web
hosting.
We will hopefully be back soon... in the meantime PLEASE don't forget to check out the rest of our website.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!!

News from 2/21/06 Introducing
the latest and greatest addition to the 1982-1993 Mustang GT Registry... our new
1982-1993 Mustang GT Registry Reference Gallery!!!!! Here you will
be able to look through literally over a thousand of FORD MUSTANG factory source
book pages for Mustang information AND hundreds of 1982-1993 Mustang GT
reference photos plus many other cool features that we will be adding in the
future!!!!
This gallery will also make it much easier for
everyone to submit their own photos or scans of GT documentation
that we have been asking for since we started the registry back in 1994.
In addition to all this, you will be able to check out photos from our past GT
Registry get-togethers and post your own photos of your car(s) in the member
gallery section.
This area is still a BIG work in progress as we
continue to update and add to all the different sections we have featured there.
We have MANY, MANY more photos and scans sitting in our files waiting to be
added, but there's already plenty there for everyone to start enjoying. Check
it out!!
News from 1/17/06 VERY
IMPORTANT - FORUMS and REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE DOWN - MOVING
SERVERS!!!!!!!
Due to the numerous server
problems our web host has been experiencing since before Christmas, we
will be moving the entire website (including our message board) to a new
server in the next few days or so. Because of
this, we will need to close down the message
board AND the GT registration forms until
the move is completed. Rest assured that we will be working
VERY hard to make sure this goes as quickly as possible and hopefully
this will result in very minimal downtime. Thanks in advance for your
patience and understanding!!

plug in their 40th Anniversary Nashville Event article complete with a nice
little color photo of us in our vendor booth at the 40th event. Special
thanks to the article's author Steve Turner for the mention!! (Click for a
bigger version...)

The website move is now completed!
Luckily, this move went fairly smoothly and without too much downtime. The
good news is we now have much more server space available and some more tools
available to us that should make the website much more interactive in the
future. In
the last month, we have... updated the registered GT owner listings and the statistics
pages (we now have over 4300 GT's registered) and added a bunch more GT's to
the
Photo Gallery (now over 400 GT's are featured
there).
News from 7/9/04 We are currently in the
process of moving the GT Registry web site to a new web hosting company
(primarily because we have run out of space on our current web hosting
account).
In order to complete the move, we will need to
shut down the message board and registration forms for a short period of
time until our domain name switches over to our new web site server.
This temporary shutdown is necessary so we do not lose message board
posts and new GT registrations. Read more about it on the message
board!!
