Default Dso?

My 92 GT has a DSO Code of 44, I bought the car from the Original Owner and I know he purchased the car brand new in Pittsburgh. I looked in my Ford Service Manual and it has no DSO listing of 44, any idea? Thanks!

DSO is District Sales Office. That's the location of the car dealer, where the car was originally from. Mine is 24 which is the Tampa, FL area. Also, I have dealer cards in my owner's manual, which shows the name of the women who sold the original owner the car, the dealer's phone number, and the location, which is St. Petersburg, FL.

I appreciate the Info, I am just kinda of curious why it does not list DSO 44 for 1992 but for 1993? I think the Original Owner gave me something that had the Original Dealership on it, I do know it was bought in Pittsburgh.

DSO codes don't always match where the car finally finds it's owner.

Cars can be delivered at a dealership, but sometimes relocated and sold by another Ford dealer.

If a customer is looking for a certain Ford car that the dealer does not have on the lot, it can be found through the network of Ford dealers. Dealers will also trade cars. In the old days, the car would be ordered and it might take months for the customer to see it.

My first (and only) new car was located like 80-miles from the dealership that it was bought from. This was in 1985 too!

Yeah when I bought my Truck last Summer, the Dealer did a Dealer Trade and they went 300 Miles away to get the Truck I wanted! I was so happy they went out of their way to help me get the one I wanted!

Why does your list show Pittsburgh as 14, and no listing for 44?

I thought that was strange also. It's most likely not a complete list. I'm sure the sales dept. has a more complete list.

Wanted to thank you again for trying to help me with the spring issue. I've taken them apart three times and I still don't think it sits right. I need to see another fox body with them installed so I can compare the two. Hopefully I can bring it to work next week for the alignment.

There are actually a few DSO codes on that list that doesn't match my book. Most likely they (ford) have changed the sales offices around, being that some were closed in the past few years.

Hey Man, No Problem! These Old Foxes have a tendancy to sit kinda uneven but yours is a little bit too much difference, I know they make spacers specific for that problem and you can also look into some weightjacker LCAs.

The one thing that I did not change was the sway bar end links. Not sure if that is part of the problem. Also when I do the rear suspension upgrade I'll if that makes a difference. Need to go ahead and order the rear springs before the go obsolete from Ford. Anyway not trying to hijack your thread. Hope you find the answer to your dso question.

That odd DSO code may be nothing more then a typo.

I've not been back here in a bit, I would say the typo is on your car.
