I purchased the RAM Clutch kit. I haven't installed it yet but I was wondering if anyone knew how much better it is compared to the stock one.

I just installed a Zoom kevlar clutch...havn't really driven it much since, so the jury is still out. It was really shuttering at first, but that seems to be smoothing out...only have about 400 miles since it was installed.

That's the clutch I have. I don't put many miles on my car as it's mainly a strip car, but what I do put on are hard miles. It held up to a full season of abuse last year and still seems to be working fine. I'm happy with it. The pedal effort is a little high, but if I wanted a sissy pedal I'd just drive an automatic! ![]()

Mine has the King Cobra clutch and works great. I installed it last year with the engine and trans. install. Has about 1000 miles on it now.

My engine/trans are going to be coming out in Summer 2010 for a fresh-up and I need a new clutch when I get the trans rebuilt. I was thinking of going with the Centerforce Dual-friction because a buddy of mine installed one on his '67 Mustang and loves it.
My problem is this : I don't know if my Mustang has a 10" or 10.5" clutch... I keep getting conflicting answers to which one I have. Anyone have a simple way to find out without taking the trans out ? Thanks ! Scott |

Well the daughters '92 has the Ford Racing King Cobra and its been a good unit. Slightly heavier pedal than stock. Our '91 hatch has the older FMS heavy duty unit and its alot more heavier pedal feel than the King Cobra. It has been really abused but has held up great

Stock would have been 10", but theres always the chance someone changed it. If you are going through the effort of rebuilding motor and trans, just get a new 10.5" flywheel and the matching Centerforce clutch

The last one I built I installed the cfII with a tremec t56 6 speed in an 87 gt and loved it! I was leaving the line at 3800 -4200 and it never failed.Pedal pressure was not that bad for me and I have had knee surgery. The cfII is what I will use in all my mustangs.

When I first installed my CF-DF I was very very happy with it. Easier peddle pressure, and it grabbed real hard. I had a buddy of mine drive it with the stock clutch and then latter had him try the CF and he couldn't get used to how hard it grabbed, he stalled it a few times before I took the seat back. I never had a problem with it though. After a few weeks, I started having problems, and about 2 months later I'm still trying to sort them out, but they have all been auxiliary clutch system problems. First was the quadrant that failed, then the bearing retainer. I've replaced both with more appropriate aftermarket parts (BBK cable/ quadrant/ firewall adjuster, and Ford Racing steel bearing retainer). The trans goes back in this weekend, hopefully I can start saying good things about it again.
