I have a zoom clutch installed with less than 5,000 miles on it. It is slipping like nobody's business already! I think the rear main seal is leaking - would that cause it to slip, and if so, would the cause reamin if the seal is replaced, or should I plan on a new clutch at the same time?
What else could be causing it to slip with so few miles? Poorly adjusted quadrant?

You answered your own question. The rear seal is leaking, oil is getting between the clutch friction plate and flywheel and yes you will need a new friction plate once you replace the seal. The quad is self adjusting and if you followed the procedure it should work fine.

Its probably the rear main...
And the quadrant is self adjusting but there known to fail. as long as the cable fully releases tho there isn't a problem there. most likely the rear main...

If you put a zoom quadrant & cable in, the quadrant is no longer adjustable, but the cable is. The others are right rear main will need replaced & flywheel should be resurfaced, along with a new clutch disc. Did you put a firewall adjuster in? If so when installing the cable there is a plastic(rubber) piece on the firewall side of the cable, should be black in color, remove it & file off the tits on the plastic piece so it will slide into the firewall adjuster properly. Hope this helps! Did it to mine 1050 miles ago NO PROBLEMS since. GOOD LUCK!!!
