There weren't any Cobras in 1990. SVT didn't offer the Cobra until 1993. I had a big argument with some little 19 year old on another Mustang group about this. She was trying to sell her "rare 1991 Mustang GT Cobra Convertible." All because when you run the VINs on these cars, the word "Cobra" shows up...doesn't mean anything.

I have read that some of the Canadian cars have Cobra badges on them, and that was just to identify the Canadian cars from the American cars.

Actually, if it was a car originally sold in Canada, it IS correct to call it a "Cobra GT"...

Read this - http://www.mustanggt.org/canadiangt/canadiangt.htm

Ford even called it a Mustang Cobra GT on the window stickers and in the Ford factory literature...

The "Cobra" was introduced in 1993 along with the "Lightning" Pickup as products of Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT).

When I worked at a Ford dealership this guy came in and was talking about his 90 Mustang GT. He said it was registered as a Cobra so his insurance was double what a normal GT would be. It was so much he had to get rid of it. He was thinking about buying a new 05 though. After he left in his rusted out 80's Cutlass Sierra all the Mustang guys burst out laughing.

And even before the "Cobra GT" there was a "Cobra package" from '79 through '81. And before that, the '76(?)-'78 Cobra II, including the '78 King Cobra. And before that, the AC Cobra ('62-'65?).

Any others?

They wasted too much $$ on the cars and should have spent more on a writer.
