Buying from a private seller

Does anyone here know the proper procedure for buying a car from a private seller, in terms of documentation.

Bill of Sale?
Transfer of Title?
Anything else?
Can the owner simply sign the back of the Title if it is in their possession and pass it to you along with a bill of sale? :confused:

It'll vary a bit from state to state, but for the most part you just need the signed title. Bill of sale isn't a bad thing to have, although it's probably more necessary for the seller than the buyer. It would probably be best to check out the web site of your local DMV (http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/) to find out exactly what you need.
