View Full Version : 1986 Pony to go
1986GT

Unfortunately I have had my attention turned to other priorities and need to let my Pony go. I have a 1986 Mustang GT. I am second owner, I bought this car in 11/2000. I had all exterior trim removed and had car painted back to original OEM intent. Garaged ever since. I put about 1,000 miles a year on the car and it currently stands at ~85,000 miles. Needless to say interior ane exterior are in great shape for the age. Mechanically is good for the age. The only need is a Cat back exhaust. I thought next owner would prefer to choose rather than have me install just for sale. I am looking for ~$4,000. Please let me know if you want pictures.

This sounds all well and good, but is it a hatchback, convertible, 5-speed or AOD?
What color is it? What color is the interior? Is it still on the 10-holes?
Any chance of posting a photo?
If you edit and doctor up your original post, I can delete my reply.
The way this post sounds, your just teasing us!

Sorry for not giving the vital stats. The car is a Hatchback 5 Speed Oxford White with Charcoal interior.
The car is not perfect but is in really good shape for its age. If I were to keep it, I would have replaced the cat back exhaust as stated earlier and then begun to replace suspension bushings and springs, etc.

Gorgeous car!
Being a 5-speed, low mileage and being in this condition it has to be a $4k car. If it were an AOD needing some cosmetics, $4k might be a good point to start haggling.
It will be just a matter of time before it gets the right looker.
Have you considered Ebay? Mustangs in all kinds of condition sell there.
Have you registered it with our Registry?

Very nice car! I'm sure you'll have no problem selling it...
