really i dont know how many of you work on a tight budget but with 2 kids and a stay at home wife i do it seems everyone is so quick to pounce on anyone who wants to save some money like switching to thicker oil in a high mile engine or find some cheaper alterative to gain horsepower rather than the $1000 heads and $700 intake i mean i appreciate the advice but i always loved mustangs because i grew up in a house where we had less cash than alot of people but anyone could afford a mustang and still run with the big dogs i have had my car 8 years i would love a newer lower mile car but cant afford it like alot of guys i mean some guys act like a $6000 engine is what everyone can afford honestly if i had $25000 to blow as much as i enjoy cars it wouldnt be spent on a car sorry if i have offended anyone but i just wanted to point out that not all of us working guys can afford to spend thousands of dollars on our cars

I hear you Baywolf! I'm from a similar situation. I'm fortunate enough to be able to have one of these things, but I'm careful where I put the $ into the car.

I maintain the beast, but when it comes time to replace stuff I'll try to upgrade the car where I can to make it go better or handle better.

They are a lot of bang for the buck compared to what you get in the newer cars for the 10's of thousands of dollars they cost.

I wish I could of had one a dozen years ago when they were new. They were real fun to watch on street night at my local track back then.

ive had mine 8 years it was 4 years old with 58000 miles on it now it reads 138000 everyone says you must really like that car to keep it so long and i do but let me tell you the truth i cant afford a replacement that i would be satisfied with so multiply 365 days by the 8 years ive had it and divide this into the 8300 i gave for it and you come out to about $2.75 a day not bad huh? my first mustang cost $1150 and i had the best times of my life in it wish i still had the old 72 351c i got it in 91 and it only had 71000 miles on it

I totally agree . I am also on a tight cash plan . I bought my Mustang for $2200 ( 85 GT), with 122K miles on it.Runs good.

These cars are fun, and cost effective. There is not much else out there that goes like these cars, and doesn't cost big $.
Look at all the parts that are available, and the small up front $ it takes to get into a half way decent one.
They are a lot of bang for the buck. I'm on my second one after 4 years.

Hey Baywolf, my 12-year old car comes out to $2.03 / day. It only has 49,000 mi., 300+ HP, and is as beautiful inside as out.
