DSO:Transportation Services - 1982-1993 Mustang GT Registry Message Board

I just submitted my '84 GT #139031 to the registry and also decoded my door tag info. My question is this: My DSO number is 89. This decodes to "Transportation Services" rather than a city as I have seen in the past. Can someone fill me in on what this means please?

Basically the 89 "Transportation Services" DSO means that the car was not sold to the general public brand new but was retained within Ford Motor Company. Generally, the "Transportation Services" cars could have been used for things such as press vehicles, executives' cars, general company cars, test vehicles, etc. etc.

Thanks for having this registry and a site that I can use to find out more about my car. I am a first-time Mustang owner and feel fortunate to have found this car. I am looking forward to getting it on the road after it's ten year nap in the barn.
I will get the rest of the info from the car as time allows, ie; buck tag, calibration, engine decal and rear axle tag.
