• Mustang 5.0 & 4.6 1979-1998 by Matt Stone (1998) (Motorbooks International, P.O Box 2, Osceola, WI 54020)
  
  This is a pretty good book if you're interested in getting some general history of late model Mustangs.  Approximately half the book is dedicated to the 3rd generation Mustangs with some nice photos.  It even has a pretty interesting section entitled Mustangs on Track with some neat vintage pictures of 3rd generation road racers and drag racers.

• Miscellaneous Ford dealer sales brochures, manuals, books, sales literature, shop manuals, etc.
  
  These probably contain THE most useful type of reference material we can get for the registry. There were MANY types of books, manuals, literature, etc. used by Ford dealers at the time the cars were new that contain all sorts of valuable information.  We are still in the process of trying to collect as many of these items as we can. 

• 1965-1990 Mustang GT/Mach 1 Guide (Tab Books Inc., Blue Ridge Summit, PA 17294-0214)
  Haven't seen this book in person, but is supposed to contain GT info and production numbers.

• The Complete Book of Mustang by the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide (1989) (Publications International, Ltd., 7373 North Cicero Avenue, Lincolnwood, IL 60646)
  By the auto editors of Consumer Guide. Very nice book with great photos of 3rd generation GT's and nice write-ups. Goes up to 1989.

• Mustang, The Enduring Legend by Nicky Wright (1989) (Gallery Books, 112 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10016)
  Covers Mustangs from 1965-1990. A few really nice, big photos of a 1984 GT 350 and a 1989 GT Hatchback and Convertible. Not much there in the facts and figures department, though and contains a few inaccuracies.

• Mustang, America's Legend by Roger W. Hicks (1991) (Courage Books, 125 South Twenty-second Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103)
  Covers Mustangs 1965-1990. Pretty good write-ups (a few inaccuracies) with some nice 3rd generation GT photos thrown in for good measure.

• Modern Mustangs by Jim Campisano (1999) (Metro Books - ISBN 1567996973)
  We do not have this book yet, but plan to buy it soon. Covers Mustangs 1979-1999.

• Standard Catalog of Mustang by Brad Bowling, James T. Lenzke (2002) (Krause Publications; ISBN: 0873492447)
   We do not have this book yet, but plan to buy it soon. Covers Mustangs 1964-2001.

• Mustang, America's Favorite Pony Car by John A. Gunnell, Brad Bowling, Jerry Heasley (2001) (Krause Publications; ISBN: 0873419464)

• Ultimate Mustang by Pat Covert, William Bozgan, Patrick Covert (2001) (DK Publishing; ISBN: 0789462443)

One thing we have noticed is that there are frequently inconsistencies in the data contained in many books, therefore, the information in these books should not always be considered gospel.
