40th Anniversary Mustang Show - Nashville TN - April 2004
The big Mustang 40th Anniversary Celebration (sponsored by the Mustang Club of America) took place in Nashville, Tennessee on April 15-18, 2004 and we decided this would be the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate the registry's 10th anniversary, promote the registry and finally meet all the people that have supported us all these years! We had our very own vendor's booth in the vendor area and had our first ever GT Registry Get-Together Saturday night at a local restaurant.
Needless to say, we had a FANTASTIC time at this event! We met a bunch of SUPER people from the message board. We had a great time manning the GT Registry booth (special thanks to "moderator Chris" for hanging in there thru thick and thin with us) and our Saturday night get-together (special thanks to Goodson for getting that arranged) was a LOT of fun (especially the 3 hours we spent after the restaurant closed standing around in the parking lot talking and checking out each other's cars). Everyone seemed to hit it off, talking like they'd known each other for years.
Having the booth was really a great promotional tool for the registry... we had a surprising variety of people/businesses stop by including a bunch of guys from Latemodel Restoration Supply (50resto.com), a couple of guys from Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine, the guy from Ford's Mustang Club Center, the wife of the owner of Mustangs Plus and there are a bunch we're probably forgetting. We also had a bunch of international visitors from the registry including Steven Smith from the UK (who also attended our Saturday night get together), Carsten Thaesler (and family) from Germany and Lars-Petter Kolkind from Norway (who's helping us get as many GT's from Norway registered as he can). Our heads are still spinning trying to remember all the people we met. We gave out a TON of GT Registry informational flyers and it generated a lot of interest in the registry.
What a GREAT way to celebrate our 10th anniversary!!
