Smile Titanium paint partly solved

My car is an 88 GT with Cabernet Red on top and the bottom is Titanium. I spent a lot of time looking through the registry stuff and have the same question as a lot of you. What is Titanium paint and how is it made ? I just recently met a Ford person who worked on the line and He said that every so often a tanker truck would deliver this paint. Who delivered the paint He did not know. He did know that Ford did some checks on this paint for whatever reason and they made changes to it from time to time. My Ford dealer here in Canada has nothing in their books for Titanium Paint 73. Ford sent me to the local paint supply store. I like this place and I like the guys working there. 100 AND TEN PER CENT HELPFUL. They are car people. Both people mix paint and one person paints cars in his spare time and he has just painted a couple of 88 GTs in the last couple of months both having Titanium bottoms. I WILL GET THE MIX AND PASS IT ON TO ALL. My car was painted for the second time in 1992. The Cabernet was a little darker than the original. Original Cabernet Red is quite light. Apparently they used Laquer paint with a lot of clear coat on top and it has a million cracks in the paint. I am sanding the car now. The Titanium half was also painted at this time. I sanded a couple of spots on the Titanium. First to come off was white powder Clearcoat then their Grey Paint then up comes the original Titanium paint from Ford and lastly the Yellow Plastic Material of the Ground effects. My original Titanium Paint is Darker than the paint put on in 1992. I have some pictures which may help show all this Stuff. I will be back with more info. Bob
