It was great to have that news to share! But that wasn't all!
The day before I was released from the hospital, one of my grandsons (7 months old, needed surgery to correct his trachea. The 8 1/2 hour surgery was a complete success!!!
While he was in surgery, our other son's wife delivered our 11th grandchild, also a boy!!!
Some of you may understand when I say, 'my quiver is filling up'!!!
Some more great news is coming up in another thread!!!
Wait for it. Wait for it. Wait for it!...

"But for the grace of God", Red85GT!!! I'm amazed, too!
LNor never saw snow since 1995- always garaged in winter (and early spring while the meltdown was in progress). Now a Florida car since 2008! Rust is minimal!
It's officially a family heirloom!

Unhappy Back to the thunder!

Well, as is often the case with cancer, mine has apparently recurred. At least all the symptoms say so. I still have to go for another octreoscan to be sure.
I'm still trusting in my God to work according to His will. He will give me grace to endure whatever the future holds for me.
I am grateful for a wife who is willing to stand with me and fight whatever fight is ahead.
I'd appreciate the prayers of those who believe.

Hi Jerry,

Sorry to hear the bad news.

But I'm not surprised. As you stated, this is often the case with cancer.

Your situation reminds me of my uncle, who passed away 5 years ago from mantle cell cancer. Several years ago, he was diagnosed. His doctors gave him just a few months to live. At the end of those few months, he returned to his doctor. And he was completely cleared of cancer. They couldn't find one cancer cell in his body. He actually lived for a few more years. Eventually, it did return. And he did ultimately die from it. But, by that time, he was 76 years old. And he had lived a full life.

I think he just gave up. He was tired of living, and he wanted to die. Along with many of my family members, I feel that my uncle would still be alive today if he had only fought it. But he didn't want to fight it.

Moral of the story: I think that the "will to live" has a lot to do with it.

I've been off the board for some time, and am shocked to read of these cancer scares you've had, Jerry. Congrats on the latest clear bill of health! Hope it stays that way!!

Thank you, Tom!!! It truly appears the last preliminary test was a false and the final result says clean!
It certainly brought me face to face with myself; a time for reflecting. I'm looking forward to the future!

Like many others I have unfortunately been away from the boards for far too long!

I am very sorry to hear of your health scares my friend. You have always been one of the best members of this board and always a joy for me in my many visits.

While I remember not always agreeing with your views on football and politics, I could still tell that you are the type of man who loves and cares for his family and friends. That, in my book, makes you the type of friend everyone should have in their life. Prayers going out for you buddy!

Now, enough with the mushy mush... go kick cancer's A$$!!!!
