Cool

2.4 sec. 60' time? Did you take about 7 Benedryl tablets a half-hour before the race?

15.2 @ 91.2 looks like a stock mustang with an inexperienced driver. Is it an AOD or manual? Just practice a little and you should get those 60' times to about 2.0-2.1 in no time.

On street radials I would guess around 2.0 seconds. If you could cut that .4 at the light your ET could go down to mid 14's.

My old '86 GT (stock) with the AOD use to go 15.50's around 89MPH. My 60ft times were in the 2.40's. I was always breaking traction too. I drove badly!

With a stick, and even highway gears these 1987, and newer cars were going mid 14's around 95MPH back then.

its a stick so its alittle harder to race then an automatic. i get killed at the launches because the track is wierd for some reason.

if i let my foot off the break to push the gas i start rolling backwards( this sounds like other tracks?) so what i have to do is keep my right foot on the brake and gas at the same time and that makes it alittle wierd but i guess the more i go the more i'll get used to it even though you'd think it would be level.

thx for the feedback guys

The roll back thing at the staging lights use to happen at my local track too. The guys with the stick cars would have to apply the parking/emergency brake or they would sometimes roll out before the tree fired.

What kind of tires do you have? You probably need to get some track tires. I have a message posted right now. I'm trying to find some good street/strip tires right now. I had bfgoodrich comp t/a's originally. I was pulling 1.774 60ft with a 13.35 @ 102mph out of an 87 GT with a 5-speed. However my car didn't roll backwards. I'd tach the car to about 6k (just before the rev limiter) and drop the clutch and off I'd go.

How are you launching at 6k with BFg's?
Thats sounds more like 10.5 inch slicks. but, a 13.2 is an awsome et for 102 MPH.

Replying to a comment said a while ago, it doesn't matter what your reaction time is in regards to your E.T. My friends with turbo cars used to sit at the light until the right RPM, then launch. Their R/T was around 5 seconds, but their e.t's were 12.0's and 11.9's.

Thumbs down

Well this site finally got one, I was wondering how long it would take before some ford or 5.0 hater would come here and flagrantly wave thier banner of ignorance. An 11 second VW? Maybe if you drop in a ford engine. Are there no VW boards out there? Shoo fly, don't bother us, go back to the terd from whence you came.
