![]() A lot of people complain about cops. I know a lot of them, and they just do their job. They cut soo much slack to a lot of people, and only if you do something realy stupid, or if they are having a bad day do you get a ticket.
There is a town in NJ (it will remain nameless) where a lot of the kids hang out with really fast cars. One night not this week, a few cops came out and raced with the kids. Not to any big speed, but they were having a good time, and they love BS'ing with us. So, not all police fit the stereotype of being out to get people with fast cars. ------------------ 92 Mustang GT Mods: World Products Windsor Sr. Heads, B303 cam, GT-40 intake, 70mm throttle body, 75mm mass air, MAC fenderwall induction, long tube headers, high flow cats, MAC catback, tremec 3550, 3.73 gears, auborn locker.Mac upper and lower rear control arms, lowering springs, 12 degrees timing. 250 HP, 294 Ft/lbs at rear wheels Best time: 13.7 @ 103.1 MPH |

![]() Joe, what did they bring? Were the cops in uniform? The cops around my town would hastle us over stuff like loud exhaust. They even would stop, and break us up if we were just parked in a corner of a quiet parking lot just to talk, and show motors. They were never liked, and never tried the friendly approach. To make it worse we had 3 brands of police trying to run the town, State, City, and Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Now we have these cruise night things where all kinds of vehicles show up, and they are a great way to blow off a Friday night. |

![]() We have a group of like 20-30 people, after kicking us out of every single place, they finally let us sit in a large open parking lot. We also have cruise nights, during the summer, they are pretty much every night at different places. The big ones get over 200 cars a night, they happen every week. I usually go every tuesday and thursday.

![]() In California we had a program called "Beat the Heat" where you could take your car out to Sears Point Raceway and race the cops.

![]() Very true about the cops. I've gone to school with most of the cop's kids in my town, and they all love my cars. Unfortunately, they also get a kick out of pulling me over when they get bored and wanna say hi.

![]() The cops are tough in MA. I know in Fall River this past saturday it took me and another kid almost 2 hours just to race because of getting thrown out of 4 different parking lots in the course of that time. The cops make no sense they threw us out of the stop and shop parking lot so we went over to burger king and got some food then it was ok to hang around there cause we were "paying customers". But only right across the street at Bess Eaton coffee there were about 30-40 cars hanging out. The cops will never understand...

![]() Yes they are trying to prevent us from racing. But my point is how selective they were. There were about 30-40 other cars across the street doing the same thing as us we just had gone elsehwere to talk beforehand. I think the main problem is that there needs to be more legal drag strips. It would solve some of the street racing problems around the country.
