![]() I noticed that some 88 T-top vehicles have standard hard top mirrors and others have convertible mirrors. Does anyone know the details on this, I remember I tried to put convertible doors on my 87 T-top and I couldn't get the side glass to roll up all the way.

![]() I can't remember what build month they switched the mirrors, but say sometime in the middle of the 88 model year, all t-top and convertible cars had the door skin mounted mirrors.
Prior to that, ALL t-top and convertible cars had the mirror in the window frame like a normal solid roof car. So an 87 convertible would use the same mirror as a solid roof car. Same for an early build 87 convertible. Also same for t-top cars. For your problem, t-top glass and convertible glass are different. The sad solution is to get t-top glass. A common misconception is that convertible and t-top doors are the same.

![]() Mine is a December 87 build date and has door mounted mirrors. I have been told that that was the last month that they made T-Tops for 88. If anyone has a later build date with door mounted mirrors please post.

![]() When I went to rebuild my window motors I found a Pat, sticker inside. I went to the Pat. website and found a lot of differance in doors and mirrows. Some tops were done by companys other than C&C in Mi. They were after markets and projects were done in a couple of Mags.

![]() I purchased a new 88 mustang GT T_TOP in nov 1987, the car was built in oct, 1987 and Has the vert mirrors, my build no. is 04, which means there had to be no more than 99 made , if more were made than 99 than my no. would have to be 004, 0004, ect see what I mean. also if you order parts, many have two options pre 10/ 87 and, or 10/87, so therefor oct cars were the last of the T-Top options! I still have this car and it will have been with Me for 25 years in nov. I am 56 and have forgot, more about the 88 T-Top than most people know. what I can say is if You have a 88 GT T-Top keep it, This one is a show car and has won many trophies

![]() I will have to disagree about there not being any T-Tops built after 10/87. I have had my car for 25 years, and it was built in November of 1987. Attached is the door tag.
