I don't remember which magazine it was, but I recently read an article on barn finds of some rare muscle and amidst all the Boss 302's and Cobra Jets and the like, there was an '82 T-top coupe.

![]() Hello all, first time poster here.
I know this is a really dumb question but what is a notch back? I/we just bought a 85 GT with T tops, I'm assuming these are pretty popular though, right. I really don't like the T tops on this car, but liked the rest of the car. Steve |

![]() the "nothcback" as its commonly referred to,is a coupe(the one with the trunk)..probably the least common, but they're the lightest and one of the hardest to find in a nice clean one..my personal favorite body style
like this:

![]() to add notchbacks only came as LXs. GTs were verts or hatches. also have never seen a notch with the t tops. does anyone have a picture of that? it sounds interesting to say the least

![]() I may not recall 100%, but I believe Ford offered the T-Top option up till 1984 (don't quote me on the year) for the Coupes.
KJ Jones car - that 86 T-Top car - has no proof anywhere that it is a Ford optioned T roof car. The place that did the conversions still offered to do the t-top conversions, but not as a factory Ford option. So it may be the same exact thing, but not factory. I could get some pics of T-Top Coupes to post here...
