Winter projects?

Soooo.... anybody got any winter car projects they are working on that they want to share? Spring and summer are just around the corner so now is the time to be getting those projects done.

Nothing is happening here on cars... my winter project is getting my basement cleaned out (mostly stuff I inherited from my mom's estate). What a job THAT is...

i posted this on reddit about 4 months ago, since then i have done the front brakes, everything on the manual brake end except the prop valve, did the alternator, and fan. I also installed a dakota digital dash, and then it got cold and i seemed to not want to go in the garage anymore.

"Just got done changing the motor mounts, and transmission mounts. This all started with a header change, and as per usual an easy header change unfolds into more than an easy job lol.

Winter projects: rebuild rear end(bearings and all) with 3.55 gears and carbon fiber tracloc disks and install a PHB. Convert to cobra brakes all around(currently have pbr front and drum rear) with hps pads. Manual brakes, manual steering. 3g alternator upgrade, Electric fan. It's a LONG list, but i have the next 6 months to do it hehe."

And another project that i think I'll wait till winter is over is repowering my ariens 1124pro snowblower with a yanmar clone 10hp diesel engine. I have the engine already. Now its just a matter of having a long enough stretch where I can get it done(hence the waiting part).

I need to finish doing the passenger side quarter window molding, I restored the drivers side last year.

I have spent most of this winter, except for the really cold days, taking apart and sanding down my 88GT. It is Cabernet and Titanium. The body of the car is about 99.9% rust free. Just a few stone chips on the wheel wells. The car was totally painted in late 1991 and I found it in early 1992. About Late February I brought Her Home. The first picture shows Her covered with slush and snow. The car had been heavily coated with clear coat, about 1/16 inch thick in some places.This cracked severely over the years and was actually flaking off.The bottom half of the car was painted silver grey but none of the ground effects were removed. So while I was removing the plastic panels from the car I found two areas where the original Titanium paint had never been touched since it was painted in the factory in October, 1987. My car will be brought back to it's original color. If anyone is interested, and once I get the paint numbers, I will post the results for all to see. IF anyone has an original painted car with Titanium on the bottom and you know the paint numbers please let us know.... from Bob.

I did find a super close match for the Lower Titanium Section in a spray can, it is SEM Brand and I "think" the number is 15253 but I cant verify that till I can get to my garage again, I will update as soon as I can.

well I just ordered new tires today. My other tires are who knows how old(they were on the rims when i bought them 10 years ago). So, i figured it was time to change. I ordered some BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 in 245/45zr17.

Should be pretty good compared to some 10+ year old gatorbacks(i'm assuming they were the original tires to the 99gt rims. So, possibly almost 20 yr old tires).

A few days ago I took the part of my car,WITH THE ORIGINAL TITANIUM PAINT ON IT, to my paint man. He had spent time going through his books. When he saw the part he pulled out a paint chart, different than I had ever seen, and scanned it and the sample of paint under A VERY BRIGHT LIGHT. The paint I have is....SEM BUMPER COATER, 39253, Med. Titanium Metallic. My paint man said to me," You know this is an actual Ford Paint." All the paint chips had mix numbers except 39253, which said, " NOT AVAILABLE." Shakerhood has a can of SEM paint which, when he checks the paint number ,may be the same paint. I have a picture of the original paint and the new paint.

I bet it is the same color, the last 3 numbers are the same, the first 2 may have changed. I painted a piece of metal and taped it on the lower section and looked out in the sunlight and it literally disappeared as it matched so well.
