Default Aluminium Driveshaft-To get or not to get?

Hey guys,

I have a 93 Gt, some bolt ons, and we'll I'd like to know what this community thinks about the LMR Ford Racing (28 spline) aluminum driveshaft... Does it make a big difference on the actual driving and feel if the vehicle ? Much appreciated.

I had one on my last mustang(15 years ago now hehe). Will help with vibrations somewhat, and its less rotational mass. The only downside is the price.

Hi Mike,

That reminds me of why Ford's SVO engineers started using "horizontal dampers" (horizontally-mounted shocks in the quadra-shock rear suspension system) on the Mustang SVO, which Ford started using on the Mustang GT in circa 1986. In theory, they are supposed to damp the oscillations (vibrations) of the rear axle. They also tighten up the rear suspension and improve handling in curves.
Currently own: 1988 Mustang GT hatchback, black/red, 5.0 V8, 5-speed, original owner, 14,000 original miles
Previously owned: 1980 Mustang Turbo coupe (notchback), grey/black, 2.3 turbo, 4-speed, my first car

Unless your current driveshaft wobbles for whatever reason, i doubt you would ever know its there, unless you look, of course. Aluminum driveshafts are stronger but weigh less, so its worth getting. If you dont mind the price.

Ive been running an aluminum SVO/Ford Motorsports driveshaft since about 97 or 98. They were only $159 back then.
