Default My 86 Capri...pics *56k*

Well I just realized I have not shared my capri with you.

I bought it about 4 months ago or so and have been working on making her shine.

1986 Mercury Capri 5.0 5spd w/ T-Tops
118k miles

This is how she sat when I went to look at her.

This was just a few days after and she started to clean up nice nice

I really hated the Prime Wheels and the tires were past the steel belts..ready to blow.

Found these for 100 bux! with like new rubber!
That my buddies Notch...nice car too huh!

Found me a ASC wing...still need to install it.

Well the motor needs some cleaning and that what I started to do.
New cover gaskets, and painted.
70mm BBK Throttle Body and EGR from my parts car motor. Also a 80 upper intake, all repainted.

Shampoo time!!

Got the rear bumper painted

Got the hood scoop from my parts car transfered over

And this brings us to today.

Had 2 cracks in the lower air dam....

Used SEM 2 part bumper repair, little fiberglass filler...and walla.

Little humid out today so I had to stop painting.... brought
it in the garage with the dehumidifier and a heater going...I was able
to finish. Used SEM Charcoal 39153 Bumper Coat.

I will back it out tommorrow for a second pic. This way I will have
the marchal's back in.

Thank you....we got a ways to go...but heading in the right direction!

When I bought it, it didn't run right.

Found out #2 injector hadn't been firing for a long time!
Short in the main harness and took out the ECM.

I put a local mustang mechanic on it and $209 bux later she ROARED!

You have done a really nice job of cleaning up the Capri, She lookin sweet. I also like how the restoration went on the Marchal fog light covers, looks like the covers got a first class job.

Keep up updated on the progress.

Yeah, we got the same batch of crap up this way!

Got two high school grad parties to go to this weekend.

Anyway, that car is really looking good.

These Capri's are almost forgotten by many people.

I see you are from RI.

Any chance you would like to go the fun run with Jerry and myself?

The first leg of it starts in Lincoln Mall RI.

There will be 40 cars and about 78 people.

Jeff, you've got it looking good. Wish mine looked 1/2 as good as yours, I'd be happy!

Thanks Delos!

Your car looks very good as well bud.

It just takes time....trust me my car is FAR FAR from perfect, but
I am trying to make her look as good as I can for the short cash I paid for her.
