That thing is sweet.

The problem with the concept is not the trailer, it's with the compact cars of the day...I wonder what the 0-60 of that Beetle is with the trailer in tow? Better not try to merge onto any expressways!

Pretty cool Snake!

Ever see one of these out on the open road?

I never owned an air-cooled VW. Would that motor run extra hot w/o the usual air flow behind it?

Chris, the beauty of the air-cooled is that the fan (located upright behind the rear seat area) sucked air from under the car as well as through the small vents above the engine cover! Seriously, I hauled a lot of very large loads with the 4 bugs I had, and never came close to an overheating problem!
The squarebacks and the buses had their fans mounted 'pancake' above the engine!
