IS THIS REALLY THE LAST T-TOP? - 1982-1993 Mustang GT Registry Message Board

I'm not sure if this is in the correct message board or not, but I am very interested in buying a '88 Mustang GT with T-tops.

The owner claims it was THE LAST GT ever made with the T-tops.

Where can I find out if this is true, based on the VIN number (or other info)?

Whomever claims they have the last '88 GT produced with the T-roof option either has some friends in the right places (inside FoMoCo's archive system) or is engaged in conjecture.

Production numbers for options such as the T-roof are NOT available at this time.

To my knowledge, such info on T-top equipped GT's has never been released from Ford... however, if you tell us the VIN (and if possible all the info from the door tag), we can at least let you know if there are any in the registry that were made after it.

He might mean the last year for t-tops on a mustang. But i doubt it is the last one "ever" to be produced out of the 50,294 GT hatchbacks that were produced that year.

Yeah, '88 was the last year they put T-tops on the stang, but it'd be near impossible to tell you if it is THE last one ever made with t-tops. And really I don't think that's what the guys means, unless he's stupid.

Theres only one way to no for sure in what the seller is claiming about the 88 GT in question being the last T-Top car made in 1988.

Or the owner is just trying to sell the sizzle (read: embelish in the truth). That wouldn't be the first time somebody tried that and it certainly won't be the last.
