Default Dusting the cobwebs off...

Hi guys,

I'm a bit ashamed to admit how long it's been since I posted here. I kind of feel like I'm waking up after a very long nap... I thought I would stop in and say "hi" and see who is still hanging around.

I think it has been somewhat obvious (due to the significant decrease in traffic around here), that I have not been putting the effort into the Registry and website that I need to be to keep it alive and thriving. Unfortunately, for a few years now, I have had to put the Registry on the back-burner due to a number of major things that have been going on in my personal life (family deaths, job changes, etc.). To put it simply, I became pretty overwhelmed and the Registry (as much as I have loved doing it) had to be put down to a pretty low priority level for me.

I AM happy to see that there are still a few die-hards still hanging around here. THANK YOU for sticking around!!

The good news is that I think I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel in my personal life... soooo that means that I'm starting to look at the Registry to see where we're at and what is needed to get us back on track.

Please take a minute to say "hi" back and let me know what you've been up to!

Default I'm still around

Susie (wife of 25 years) and I will be doing a double make over on our nearly identical '82 GT's, so I've been puttering around looking for info.
Glad to hear that your waters of life are starting to calm down. Things have been kinda quiet here, but that's OK.

I've been around, but mostly lurking. I'm kind of in the same boat as far as time goes. I pulled the interior out of the '82 to make a bunch of upgrades so I could drive it to the 50th Anniversary show in Vegas and it's still not together. I haven't touched it at all this summer.

Being a glutton for punishment, I'm the show director for the 2017 MCA Grand National to be held that August in Overland Park, Kansas. Once we get the preliminary planning finished I'll have some breathing room, but the closer to the event that we get, the busier I'll get. If everything falls into place as planned, it'll be worth it.

Kathy! You have no apologies to make! With all the work and dedication you have put into this Registry, we all need to give you more than a break. Glad to hear things are easing up a bit for you.

I've been through a few things myself. Cancer surgery, a bad back that needs surgery IF I can get the insurance company to approve.
I do intend to be much more active, especially now that LNor is getting fitted up with an engine rebuild, new brakes, etc.

Good to hear from you, Kathy. Been off the board for a while myself, mostly owing to not having a Mustang for a few years. Just fixed that this week by picking up a '91 LX, so I should be around more now!

Thanks for all that you do!

Hi Kathy,

It's good to see that you are back!!!

There's no need to feel bad about not being around for personal reasons, especially health reasons. Some of us have had our share of that.

I'm a somewhat newer member here, despite being the original owner of my 1988 Mustang GT.

I've been conspicuously absent here for a few months, and that will probably continue in the near future. The reason is that I'm in the middle of a major (non-car related) project.
Currently own: 1988 Mustang GT hatchback, black/red, 5.0 V8, 5-speed, original owner, 14,000 original miles
Previously owned: 1980 Mustang Turbo coupe (notchback), grey/black, 2.3 turbo, 4-speed, my first car

Still lurking also. I try to check in once every 1-2 months just to see what's going on here on the registry.

I don't own a 3rd gen mustang any longer, The 85 I registered here is history now. Long story made short, I gave the car to my nephew, the 85 was stolen and totaled, once the car was recovered my nephew sold the car. The new owner striped it for parts and the shell was sent to the crusher.

Thanks for the replies.

It's nice to catch up on what is going on with everybody!!

I've spent the last month working on getting the registry database caught up and doing some planning for the website and registry's future. On the priority list are getting things more automated for the registry and website so I don't have to spend so much time on behind-the-scenes things in the future. Trying to keep up on registry and website updates is one of the reasons I got so overwhelmed in the past...

We've gotten over a thousand GT's registered since the last time I did an update to the database which is really cool! As soon as I'm done going through the data and getting some things cleaned up, I will get some updated registry numbers posted.

Take care!

1965 Mustang coupe (my first car - now restored to concours driven)
1985 Mustang GT hatchback #1 & #2 (SOLD)
1988 Mustang GT hatchback (daily driver - SOLD)
1989 Mustang LX 5.0L trunk (SOLD)
1991 Mustang GT hatchback (modified go fast - autocross, open track)
1991 Mustang GT convertible (summer cruiser - guy magnet - SOLD to daughter #1)
1991 Mustang GT hatchback (daughter #2)
1992 Mustang GT hatchback (daughter #1)
