Man, if you've read any of my posts, you know I don't exactly hold Ford high on my respect platform. Now I've really done it..... I bought one of those Ford Escort EXP's with the 1.9 litre high output engines for 250 bucks(canadian). It's lowered, all black, tinted out and needing a small bit of work. Does anybody know anything about these cars? it's an '86. I know they're kind of rare, but that's about it.

Slap me and call me a closet Ford lover.

Looks like you just came out of the closet, you Ford Lover! I saw this web site on a recent post, so I'll pass it on: http://www.fordexp.com/ . BTW, I used to own a 1.9 litre Escort ... I always complained that the air conditioner required 1.6 litres. But the gas mileage was pretty good.

Good luck! At least it's not one of the earlier ones (pre 1983) that had the interference engine. At the loss of a timing belt it would really test your loyalty to Henry's cars back then.

Sorry to say, I think the Escort became a better car after Ford worked out the Mazda deal in 1991.

hey thanks, that fordexp.com site really helps. This car looks just like a mini mustang. It's all black, lowered, and girls think it's a stang since the only escort giveaway is the exp symbol on the quarter window area, and the pathetic 4 banger. Thought I'd get it for the looks and fuel mileage.
