![]() i have a 1990 convertible gt ("cobra") well at least i thought thats what it was! but as it turns out theres no such thing at least thats what i was told that it was just a dealers sticker stuck to the trunk. but then if thats true why does it have cobra included in the title work and the cobra floor mats and etc. could some one please share there wisdom to the is or isnt of this car and if it is anything special and its value. one more thing if it was a canadian car then how did i end up with it and why would they put a sticker on it that is not true? isnt that like false advertising cause thats a big reason why i even bought the car. but regardless what the history its a awesome car that i am proud to say i own!!!!

![]() In regards to the Question about 1990 Cobras I might be able to help a bit. The GT Cobra was a Canadian market car - it is for all intents and purposes mechanically identical to the 49 state US GT - except slightly different emissions spec. Cobras as far as I know were offered from 1985-1991. It differs from the US market GT in having a 115 mph speedo (180 km/hr) and a Cobra decal emblem on the left side of the hatch/trunk lid. 1985 Cobras had a massive Cobra decal in the center of the rear spoiler and a smaller Mustang GT script in the usual location. 1986 Cobras had a smaller decal, above the Mustang emblem which was a chrome one like base cars (not a decal). As far as I know GT Cobras were built that way from the factory. I have a 1986 with mostly original paint and it was originally sold in Toronto, Ontario Canada
Hope this info helps |
