does the lincoln mach 7 lsc and the cougar xr7 have the same exact engine as a mustang? what were they rated at for hp?

this is for 1990-92. I am looking for the 87-89 models. I believe they are rated at 225hp and 300 ft/lb also. Its H-O engine is rumored to be internally the same as the mustang H-O motor 87-92 for 87-92 lincoln mark VII lsc models.

my buddy has a 91 cougar xr7. he has the h.o. motor in it. the computer at autozone had his motor listed as just a 302, and when we put the spark plug wires on, it was wrong. so i got the wiring for the h.o. motor, and sure enough it worked.
