Where does the stock Tachometer on a 93 mustang get it's signal from, the engine, or the transmition?

The tachometer gets its signal from the ignition coil. The green wire coming from the coil is the tach wire.

The speedometer gets its "signal" or drive from a gear that goes into the side of the transmission (driver's side I think, near the rear)
