I am wondering about the Oxford White paint on 85 & 86 GT's. I have seen many that are solid white and some that are white above the body side molding and charcoal below it. Was that an option?

Hey racemanjbt, to answer your question the paint on the 85-86 GT's was an option with the Oxford white and the charcoal paint.. My first 85 GT that i bought had this color combination, and i never hardly seen many other GT's in the 85-86 that had the color combination as mine did..

According to the Catalog of Mustang ID Numbers 1964½-93 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1880524104/19821993mustangg), Regular Production Option(RPO) code 954 was available '79-'93 and was called Lower Tu-tone Paint ('79-'85), Lower Charcoal Accent Paint ('86), Lower Titanium Accent Treatment ('87-'90), or Titanium Lower Bodyside Accent Treatment ('91-'93).

According to the Mustang Red Book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0760308004/19821993mustangg), the cost of RPO code 954 was:</font> $78 in '79</font> $88 in '80</font> $96 in '81</font> $116 '82-'86</font> No Charge '87-'89(GT only)</font> $159 '90-'93(GT only)</font>
