View Full Version : Difference Convertible top boots?
What is the difference in the top boots? I have seen from vendors that they have them broken down from 83-89 and then from 90-93, what is the difference between them? Need to know in case I find one at a swap meet how do I know I have the right one for an 89? Thanks

Only a guess, from visual observation, but I would say that the 83-89 models are larger, because the top doesn't appear to stack as low as it does on later model years. If you have a boot now, measure it and get the same size. If you don't have one now, I can measure mine.

ive got an 87 gt vert and i asked a guy i know that has a 91 vert about his top. he said that in 90 the vert tops retracted ****her and made it appear smoother/flatter than the 89 and earlier models. and also he said something about the 90+ models had bigger wheel wells or something like that.

There is a big difference in the boot itself. The 90-93 ones have 4 snaps to the interior trim panels. The pre 90 ones only have 3 snaps and they come down over the trim panels.
