The 85 GT has a EGR valve, on the oil cap , then a hose leads into the carb , but there is a little valve that has red and white stripes on it just before it goes into the carb, what the **** is this thing and what does it do ? Anyone know this? because I have no clue,LOL!

The EGR valve is attached to the rear of the EGR spacer beneath the carburetor. Are you referring to the PCV valve on the driver's side valve pan cover and the attaching hardware?

Yes.Its connected to the top of the oil cap, and runs into the base of the carb.
My '83 GT has no such item inline from the PCV valve to the carburetor. Sorry I could not be of any help.
