paint code & two tone

I have a red 1983 GT and was wondering how to tell if the car was originally delivered with the black paint on the lower part of the body. The car has been repainted but some spots are wearing through in the door sill that show black. The car is Red
My paint code is 24 (red)and is an obsolite code, so I can't seem to find any touch up paint for it. Anyone know if ford used this color on any later vehicles? I have seen some Mustangs up into the 90s that looked almost identical. I tried a few Dealers... (no help) and some aftermarket paint suppliers again with no luck

Mouldings, Rocker Panel, black was a $39.00 option in '83. Only the window sticker will indicate if that option was OE.

Paint code 24(Medium Red) was an OE color '81-'83 only. Another other years that looked identical were not paint code 24.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I see from your page on this site that your car looks like mine should... I guess close is better than nothing when I look for touch up paint. The poor car really needs to be sprayed again (it really needs to be put to rest) but thats not going to happen yet if ever. I think the lower black paint was there, once. I will assume that the headlight surrounds should match the lower paint?
