Hi,
Does anyone know the original diameter of the pulleys (crank, waterpump, alternator)for a 87 convertible. The reason I´m asking is because I ordered a serpentine belt from Mustangs Unlimited and it turned out to be to long, and they claim it is the original for a 87 with a/c, and of course then you start to wonder. Is there any other waý to see if I have the original pulleys or not?

It is very difficult to buy belts that actually fit from anyone but Ford. At least that has been my experience. I purchased several belts from different folks but they always turned out to be to long.
Finally just went to Ford and guess what? The belt fit great.
What I would do is go to Ford and bring your belt with you. The parts department should have a belt for your car. Compare the two and I bet you will find that the Ford belt is shorter.
Good luck...

The last time that i had to change my belt, i bought a Kelly Springfield belt and it fit perfect.. The part number for the belt that i bought is 922K6. And it should have (6 Rib X 92.2 in) on the box..
I hope that this will help you to get a belt that will fit your car..

Be sure you're routing the belt correctly, you don't want to turn anything backwards, especially your water pump!

Thanks for your replíes.
For sure it looks like its the original pulleys, and surely its something about the belt. I will measure the old belt and see if I can get the right one.
