I am the orginal owner of my '88 GT and I am gathering all the documentation on the car. I wrote the dealership last May requesting any documentation regarding the retail purchase of my car that may be on file. Well low and behold, about 5 months later in October, a woman from the Dealership contacted me. She managed to get in the "archives" and gave me the following orginal documentation for my car:
- Dealer Retail Order for a Motor Vehicle
- Ford Motor Company RETAIL DELIVERY FORM
- Dealer Invoice
- Federal Odometer Mileage Statement
In addition, I have the Window Sticker all the owner's manuals, the warranty booklet, maintenance log, tire warranty documentation ect. How should I display this material? Should I make copies for shows?? Does anyone else have this type of documentation for their car??

Well, the documentation you have is definitely very valuable to the registry!! http://64.21.184.154/ubb/biggrin.gif Congratulations on getting the info from the dealer. You're lucky they still had the info on hand. http://64.21.184.154/ubb/smile.gif
Can we ask a big favor (please, oh please)?? Can you PLEASE make some photocopies of dealer retail order, retail delivery form, dealer invoice and window sticker and mail them to us? You can scan them and e-mail them (mustanggt@mustanggt.org) OR send them to us at 1982-1993 Mustang GT Registry, 6901 Northview Dr, Urbandale, IA 50322. We get very excited when we hear of someone (especially an original owner) that has paperwork like that. Usually the paperwork gets lost or thrown away over the years. Original documentation from owners is a very important part of registry data that we collect (but very seldom actually receive).
As far as monetary value... the information you have might be an added selling point and get you a few more dollars if you were to ever sell your car.
It's up to you as to whether you want to display the information you have at a car show. I would DEFINITELY make and display PHOTOCOPIES of things such as the window sticker, dealer invoice, etc. - don't display the originals as they could get ruined by the elements or disappear if left unattended. If you ever show at a Mustang Club of America show in the concours original classes, the window sticker and invoice, etc. is always nice to have on hand in case there's a judging question as to whether something is original or not.
Thanks!
Kathy

Kathy,
I would be glad to send you scanned copies. But call me a little paranoid, I am not sure how much personal info I want to disclose on these copies. Names, addresses VIN #'s ect. Can I block that out, or does that defeat the purpose. What do you think?
The car is in storage right now and and the Window Sticker is with the car. Thanks for the advice on displaying these documents.
