Does anyone know or ever hear of an option for a 1993 GT called a "Gold Package" If so what does it consist of?

Thank you, olbob

my neighbor had a car though im not sure if its what your talking about

it was a black GT convertable with gold beltline stripes and the gold tone wheels like the cougar nite cats had but it would have been older than 93 because it had turbines

he always claimed it was a special edition but i always thought it was just something a previous owned had done to it before he got it

Sometimes "options" or "packages" can be a added to vehicles by specific dealers that want to sell them as "Limited Editions" such as four Mustang SX models in '93(can't remember the dealer name) so they're not options offered by FoMoCo as OE. There are also DSO specific special edition models such as the Twister Special II in '85. Another possibility is that an original owner added "options" to the vehicle to try to inflate the value. I'd ask to see the original window sticker with the "Gold Package" listed as an option before I purchased the vehicle or get a Report999 from FoMoCo.

Caveat Emptor.

Yep, ditto what Mick said...

My guess is in this instance that it's probably a dealer-added package. Somewhere in our databases (too lazy to look right now http://64.21.184.154/ubb/smile.gif), we have documentation from an original owner of a "gold-package" dealer-added option on a GT he purchased new. I believe it included gold-colored 5.0 badges and a few other gold-colored accents.

I have a friend who supposedly has this gold package and the only difference I saw was the gold 5.0 emblem and the gold running horse on the pony wheels instead of chrome. He is the original owner of this 93 mustang.

Back in college I used to work at a dealership that offered a "Gold Edition". It consisted of gold emblems, pin stripe, and gold emblems on the center caps. A guy would come by and electroplate the chrome emblems. Later, on the 94s they would electroplate the exhaust tips. I thought that the gold tips looked a little "gaudy".

I don't know about the Ford dealer packages, but in case you run across a Yenko Chevy product, from Pittsburgh, PA, its for real. 67-71 I believe they reworked the cars.

That was a dealer prep package also - Yenko Chevrolet, owned by Hank Yenko. His son Don was the one who built special package Chevrolets just as Carroll Shelby did with Mustangs.
